Privacy Policy
Last Updated: June 24, 2026
Introduction
EditorPro ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how EditorPro handles information when you use our iOS video editing application.
In short: your videos and photos are edited on your device and are never uploaded to us. We collect anonymous usage and diagnostic data to improve the app, show ads in the free version, and use a secure cloud service to power the AI assistant. We never sell your data.
Information We Collect
Anonymous Usage Analytics
We collect anonymous analytics to understand which features are used and to improve the app:
- App usage events - Which features you use (e.g., "applied transition", "exported video", "used AutoReel")
- Device information - Device model, iOS version, app version
- Session data - How long you use the app and session timestamps
Crash & Performance Diagnostics
We collect crash reports and performance metrics to find and fix bugs (for example, error logs and the state of the app when a crash occurs). These reports do not include your media.
AI Assistant Requests
When you use the AI editing assistant, the instructions you type and a basic description of your project (such as the number and order of clips and which edits are available) are sent to our secure cloud service to generate a response. Your actual videos, photos, and audio are never uploaded - the assistant works only with text and project structure.
Advertising Data
The free version of EditorPro shows non-personalized ads through Google AdMob. To serve these ads, AdMob may process limited device information and general (non-precise) location derived from your IP address. EditorPro does not track you across other apps or websites and does not use your device's advertising identifier for tracking - so the app does not show Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Purchases
EditorPro Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles your payment; we receive only your subscription status (active or not) to unlock Pro features. We never see your payment card or billing details.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, we store a device push token so we can send you relevant updates and reminders. You can turn notifications off anytime in iOS Settings.
What We Do NOT Collect
EditorPro does NOT collect or upload:
- Your videos, photos, audio, thumbnails, or any media files
- Your name, email, phone number, or address (we have no account system)
- Precise location data
- Your contact lists or calendar data
Your videos and creative work are edited on your device and are never sent to our servers. We never sell or rent your personal data.
Photo Library Access
EditorPro requires access to your photo library to provide video editing functionality. This access is used exclusively for:
- Importing media - When you choose to import a video or photo for editing
- Saving edited videos - When you export and save your finished projects
- Generating previews - To display thumbnails and waveforms in the editing interface
Important:
- We only access photos/videos when you explicitly select them
- We never scan, analyze, or access your library without your action
- No photos or videos are uploaded to our servers
- You can revoke this permission anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy → Photos
On-Device Editing & Network Use
All video editing and rendering happen locally on your device. You can import, edit, apply filters/transitions/effects, and export entirely offline.
EditorPro uses the network for the following, and you can use the core editor without them:
- AI assistant - Sends your typed instructions and project structure (never your media) to generate edits
- Ads - Serving ads in the free version (Google AdMob)
- Analytics & diagnostics - Sending anonymous usage and crash data
- Notifications - Delivering updates if you opt in
Your videos never leave your device. Only the data described above is transmitted.
Third-Party Services
EditorPro relies on a small number of trusted third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Google AdMob (advertising in the free version) - policies.google.com/privacy
- Google Firebase (secure cloud service powering the AI assistant, app integrity, and notifications) - firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- PostHog (anonymous product analytics) - posthog.com/privacy
- Sentry (crash and error reporting) - sentry.io/privacy
- Apple (App Store purchases & subscriptions) - apple.com/legal/privacy
We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing.
Local Data Storage
EditorPro stores the following data locally on your device:
- Video Projects - Your editing projects and timeline configurations
- Cache Files - Temporary thumbnails and waveforms for performance
- App Preferences - Your settings and preferences (stored in iOS UserDefaults)
Your projects and media remain on your device. We do not sync your videos to the cloud.
Children's Privacy
EditorPro is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. In compliance with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act), if you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps. Note that the free version displays ads; parents and guardians can review the app's permissions in iOS Settings.
Data Security
We protect your data through:
- On-device processing - your media is edited and rendered locally and never uploaded
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS) for the limited data that is transmitted
- iOS's built-in security model protecting your projects and files
We recommend keeping your device secure with a passcode and ensuring iOS is up to date.
Your Rights and Controls
You have control over your data:
- Photo access - Manage photo library permissions in iOS Settings → Privacy → Photos
- Advertising - EditorPro serves only non-personalized ads and does not track you; system-wide tracking controls remain in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
- Notifications - Turn notifications on or off in iOS Settings → Notifications
- Data deletion - Delete all local app data by deleting EditorPro from your device
- Subscriptions - Manage or cancel EditorPro Pro in your App Store account settings
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal compliance. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of EditorPro after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
